Conversations happen on instruments and become songs. Sometimes these are recognised and gather a greater meaning. Some of the chats I have been lucky enough to have are now etched as song stories where more happens between the lyrics and music as the songs grow themselves. Sometimes songs reveal more of their character later. They are all a gift, to me to you. I hope you recognise them and where they take you.
I am still grateful for where they take me and where they promise to go, mostly they have come to the strings as an eclectic mix of musical styles with stories enduring a whole spectrum of emotions. From broken, to uplifted, to tongue in cheek, to cynical but not all at once. These are songs recorded over 6 years and there is so much more to say...
Short Bio
From the great, disorganised escape in my misspent-youth, tour around Oz to the great discovery of music as a reason d’être, becoming a part of the folk music community in Cairns which was a spring board to the banks of Byron Bay, or more honestly the austerity of Lismore in Northern New South Wales, falling in love with jazz standards, harmony and the raw edge of blues music, doing the whole circle back to Victoria and to the peninsula. All the way gathering from all corners and all types of performances: festivals, pubs restaurants, wineries, song writing as an artist in residence in indigenous communities, singing solo, duo, in bands in anything that needed a harmony or another guitar. Now coming to part of Ian Treloar’s holycow band and living the musical adventures at home and up the East Coast tours once or twice a year, guaranteed to be a gruelling and fantastic adventures.
